As a Social Purpose Corporation, serving our community is part of our mission. Our relationship with the Redwood Empire Food Bank spans decades and is one of our most valued partnerships—founded in part by our deep roots, including Oliver’s founder Steve Maass serving as a past board member. We support their essential work not only because of the thousands of people they directly serve, but also because they help supply affordable food to local nonprofits throughout the area.
How You Can Help Through Oliver’s Market
There are many ways you can join us in supporting the Redwood Empire Food Bank:
- Ongoing and Quarterly Food Drives
Every Oliver’s location features the Food Bank’s signature orange donation barrels in our lobbies. Drop in an item or two during your regular shopping trips.
Look for our quarterly focused drives on items like peanut butter, rice, pasta, or canned proteins—often featured at special prices to encourage giving! - Oliver’s Market Community Card
The Redwood Empire Food Bank is one of the top recipients in our Oliver’s Community Card Just register your card and select them as your beneficiary.
Then, every time you shop and scan your card, 3% of your purchase goes directly to the Food Bank—at no cost to you! - Holiday Bell Program
During the holiday season, look for $1 donation bells available at our check stands. All proceeds go directly to the Redwood Empire Food Bank—and Oliver’s will match the first $10,000 raised.
In 2024, our customers helped raise over $54,000—one bell at a time!
In addition to these customer-driven programs, Oliver’s also donates food year-round from our warehouse and back-of-house food recovery efforts—supporting both hunger relief and environmental sustainability.
We are honored to support the efficient, effective, and essential work of the Redwood Empire Food Bank and to partner with our customers in making a real difference. Together, we can help build a stronger, more food-secure community for all.
