Cotati Store

Front End Combo Clerk – Like a little change of pace in your work day? Our Combo Clerks are a combination of Utility Clerk and Checker throughout the work week. Part time and full time schedules available.  Must be 18 years of age, demonstrate basic math skills and pass a produce code test.

Front End Utility Clerk (mid shift)– Join our team on the Front End where you’ll support the checkers, bag groceries, enjoy the outdoors while collecting shopping carts and provide awesome customer service.

Meat Production (PT/FT)

Wine Clerk 3 (PT)– If you excel at customer service and have a passion for beer, wine and spirits, we have the perfect position for you! Grocery merchandising experience a plus.  Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.

Montecito Store

Deli Customer Service – Sandwich-ninja’s, wrap-rollers and super-scoopers unite!  If you excel at customer service and can create a sandwich worthy of a photo shoot, we want you!  Part time and full time positions available.

Deli Taqueria Customer Service – Every day is like Taco Tuesday for our Taqueria staff where we make custom ordered burritos, tacos and an assortment of taqueria items.   If you love grill cooking and customer service then this is the job for you!  Part time and full time positions available.

Deli Dishwasher – At the heart of every kitchen is an amazing dishwasher who can handle pots and pans the size of planters and tackle anything that comes their way.  Put on that apron and gloves and work one of the most important jobs in the kitchen.  We’re looking for part time and full time staff.

Deli Kitchen Clerk – Prepare dishes following recipes and then package foods for grab and go area.

Grocery Clerk 1/Lead – As Lead you will perform all tasks related to breaking down deliveries, moving back stock to the floor and stocking shelves. You will be required to assist in organizing and developing promotional displays and maintaining an organized, efficient and safe backroom.

Grocery Clerk 4 (4 am) – If you love those early morning hours, this position is for you.  Stock shelves, enjoy the quiet of the store before it opens, and still have time to enjoy the day.  Must be 18 years of age.  Part time and full time positions available.

Support/Custodian – Keeping our stores clean, safe and well-maintained will be your goal each day.  From cleaning up spills to power washing mats, you have an important role.

Windsor Store

Bakery Baker (early am) – Responsible for all things sweet! This is a production baking position where you will be responsible for making dough, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies and bars. It doesn’t end there, you will also do the baking, cooling, wrapping and labeling of products, decorate cakes and stock products.

Bakery/ Tavern Customer Service – It’s all about customer service, lattes, smoothies, sweet treats and more!  Create a diverse selection of beverages, serve up desserts and ring up customer orders. This position requires checker training, so be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age required for our Windsor Bakery), have basic math skills and pass a simple codes test. Part time or full time position available.

Cheese Department – Gourmet Cheese Manager

Overview:

As the Gourmet Cheese Department Manager you are expected to control all activities that support the Department’s growth and profitability. Specifically, you are directly responsible for scheduling, personnel management, merchandise procurement, gross margin management, merchandising and quality standards, customer, and safety and sanitation in your department. You are responsible for all communication and administration necessary for the successful completion of your duties and for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws. Your job duties will also include any additional duties deemed appropriate by the Store Director.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Minimum 2 years proven retail experience with artisanal, specialty and commodity cheese products
  • Ability to effectively direct and manage employees
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage pairings
  • Proven ability to source product, recognize quality and negotiate pricing and set retails
  • Financial acumen; proficiency in purchasing, retails, grosses and pricing strategies
  • Strong math skills related to financial formulas
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and POS System
  • Ability to fulfill all physical requirements of position

Customer Service – Front End Store Lead

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Lead, direct, motivate and inspire others to excel in all aspects of the Front End functions
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem solving skills and ability to multitask
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solution-oriented
  • Able to delegate tasks and responsibilities as well as prioritizing
  • Have a strong basis in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Possess knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Able to make effective decisions under time constraints
  • Dependable and reliable to work shifts as scheduled
  • Ability to solve customer request/needs and answer employee questions

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Checker
  • Act as a liaison between staff and management
  • Support the Front End Manager with all department functions as well as keeping them and the Front End staff informed of all events that may affect the Front End
  • Assist in development and training of new employees
  • Field customer comments and complaints and follow through for customer satisfaction
  • Direct work of Checkers and Utility Clerks as well as their break and lunch periods so as to ensure the break schedule is followed
  • Handle safe and money loan/pulls, authorize credit card and check transactions, maintain accurate cash drawer setup funds, and process and approve returns, exchanges, credits, overrides, etc.
  • Maintain accurate retail pricing and accurate signage
  • Complete gift card sales to customers when required
  • Open and close the department and store according to standard procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a credit check and drug screening
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to work with flour, fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of the day

Deli Department – Deli Lead, Front of House

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Strong department and product knowledge
  • Leadership, training and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of the English language (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Extensive knowledge of prepared foods and cooking techniques
  • Demonstrated ability in knife handling, other cutting equipment and safety procedures
  • Ability to multitask and move quickly and efficiently throughout the department

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Act as a liaison between staff and management
  • Assist in development and training of new employees
  • Follow and enforce all applicable State of California Health and Safety Code
  • Complete and maintain all proper dating and labeling for all prepped items
  • Provide and maintain excellent and quality service to customers
  • Follow established weights and measures procedures (tares)
  • Setup, prepare and maintain food displays
  • Use proper rotation in cases
  • Package, weigh and price food
  • Utilizing the slicer or other equipment to cut and prepare meat, cheese, etc.
  • Stock and order product
  • Aid in product and production preparation
  • Participate in catering services
  • Implementing waste management
  • May at times aid in unloading delivery orders
  • Clean equipment, work areas as well as safe job areas (floors, work tables, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee must occasionally lift up to 70 pounds and regularly lift up to 15 pounds while carrying ingredients, dishes, oil for the fryer or deli equipment
  • The employee must be able to reach above and below shoulders to access items in cabinets, shelves, and cases and on racks
  • The employee must be able to work around heavy kitchen equipment and machinery such as but not limited to: slicers, hot bar, salad bar, mixers, fryer, stoves, ovens, steamer and dishwasher
  • The employee must be able to work with grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts without suffering negative allergic consequences that impact performance
