Turkey Gravy

Turkey gravy is what unites your whole holiday meal – literally and figuratively.

Sure, you can buy a jar of turkey gravy and surive. But why settle for mediocre, when you can make your own? This recipe is easy and will be sure to impress your guests!

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 6-10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Clover butter
  • 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (or more to taste)
  • 4 cups pan drippings, chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. Drain the pan drippings for the roasted turkey through a fine strainer into a large glass measuring up or fat separater. Let sit, the remove fat from the top of the drippings. Add in chicken broth or water to make 4 cups, if necessary.

  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Add in lots of black pepper. Add in flour (1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons); constantly whisk for about 3 minutes over low heat.

  3. Slowly add in the 4 cups of drippings/broth; whisk constantly over medium-low heat until bubbly and thickened, about 3 minutes.

  4. Use right away or keep warm over the lowest heat setting. Whisk again before serving.
