Strawberry Sparkler

This Mother’s Day, give Mom the celebration she deserves with help from Oliver’s! Whether it’s finding her favorite bottle of bubbly or a preparing a meal that puts a 5-star restaurant to shame, we’ve got everything you need to say “Thank You” to the mom (or moms) in your life. Stop in this week to pick up of all of mom’s favorites at prices that’ll make her proud, like a bottle of Torresella’s Prosecco Rosé  (750ml) and fresh Strawberries . We love to turn these strawberries into homemade strawberry cordial which, while totally delicious on its own, is even better when topped with a delicious sparkling wine. Impress Mom with this ruby-red cocktail, just make sure there’s enough cordial to share!

  • Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 (750ml) bottle Torresella Prosecco Rosé, well-chilled
  • 2 lb. Fresh Strawberries, washed & hulled
  • 1 (750ml) bottle Vodka
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 2 sterile Resealable Quart Jars

Instructions

  1. To make the strawberry cordial, place prepared strawberries in the bottom of resealable jar pour vodka overtop. Seal jar tightly, and leave in a dark, cool space for at least 1 week or up to 6 weeks. When ready to use, strain into second jar to remove strawberries.

  2. Combine sugar, strained strawberries, and 1 1/2 cups cold water in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes or until liquid has reduced slightly, then remove from heat and cool. Strain cooled strawberry syrup into cordial and mix to combine. Seal tightly and store in the freezer to use as-needed.

  3. To make cocktail, add 1 to 2 ounces Strawberry Cordial to a champagne glass; top with Torresella Prosecco Rosé.
