Italian Sausage Skillet Dip
- Serves: 6-8 Servings
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Italian bulk sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Optional: red pepper flakes or fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
In a medium oven-safe skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon until browned and fully cooked.
Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cream cheese until melted and smooth. Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan, stirring until well combined.
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top. Transfer the skillet to a 375°F oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Garnish with red pepper flakes or fresh basil if desired, and serve hot with toasted bread, crostini, or pizza crust for dipping.
