- 4 Hamburger Buns, halved & toasted
- Your choice of: Cheese, Condiments, and Toppings
Remove the burgers from package and press down on them with the palm of your hand until they flatten and increase in size by a third. This will account for any shrinkage during cooking. Let rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
When ready to make the burgers, heat a large cast iron skillet or griddle on medium-high until hot, then add enough vegetable oil to coat the skillet or griddle. When oil is very hot but not yet smoking, add burger patties and sear on one side for 5 to 7 minutes, or until golden and crisp on the bottom. Flip and top with cheese (if using).
Sear an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and burgers are just below desired doneness; transfer to a warm plate to rest for 5 minutes.
Transfer patty onto an open bun and add your favorite condiments and toppings. Enjoy!
