Whiskey Pepper Marinade

Looking for a perfect steak recipe for Father’s Day? Look no further! It only takes a little whiskey to raise the steaks.

Whiskey Pepper Spice Rub (needed before starting marinade)

• 1 tsp. chili powder
• 1 tsp. ground cumin
• 1/2 tsp. granulated garlic
• 1/2 tsp. white pepper
• 1/4 tsp. kosher salt

• 1 tsp. powdered onion
• 1/2 tsp. black pepper
• 1/2 tsp. celery seed powder
• 1/2 tsp. paprika

Mix all ingredients thoroughly.

 

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. concentrated orange juice
  • 1/2 c. whiskey
  • 1/3 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 2/3 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. tomato paste
  • 1/3 c. balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 tsp. whiskey pepper spice rub (see above)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together.

  2. Using in a glass or heavy plastic container, pour over meat, cover, and place in the refridgerator. Use about 1/4 c. of marinade per pound of meat. Typically it can take from two hours for chicken, and as long as eight hours for pork or beef. Discard the liquid after marinating.
