Red, White, & Blue Trifle

Indulge in a little sweet patriotism with this deliciously festive Red, White, and Blue Trifle! With tender Angel Food Cake, fresh strawberries and blueberries, and a luscious vanilla filling, this trifle is a the perfect showstopper for any Memorial Day barbecue. You can also make it a day ahead of time, just leave the whipped cream to the last second and top it with plenty of fresh berries!

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Organic Strawberries, hulled/washed & quartered
  • 3 (6oz) packs Organic Blueberries, washed & dried
  • 1 c. Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 tbsp. Powdered Sugar
  • 2 packets Instant Vanilla Pudding, prepared according to package directions & cooled
  • 1 large Angel Food Cake
  • Large Trifle Dish

Instructions

  1. To make whipped cream, beat cream in a chilled mixing bowl on low using an electric beater while slowly sifting in powdered sugar. When sugar is incorporated, gradually raise speed to high. Beat on high until stiff peaks begin to form.

  2. To assemble trifle, tear chunks of angel food cake and wedge into the bottom of the trifle dish. Top with a generous layer of strawberries and blueberries, then top entire bottom layer with half of vanilla pudding mixture. Repeat to form a second layer.

  3. Top the trifle with a final layer of whipped cream, and arrange any remaining berries overtop. Chill until ready to serve.
