Gingerbread Men

A Christmas classic! Decorate these easy, spicy cookies and bring the holiday experience to life.

  • 3 1/2 c. All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/4 tsp. Cloves
  • 3/4 c. Brown Sugar, packed
  • 3/4 c. Molasses
  • 3/4 c. Unsalted Butter


  1. In a saucepan on low heat, melt butter; stir in molasses, spices, salt, and brown sugar. Remove from heat and allow to cool, then beat in egg.

  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a separate bowl; slowly stir dry ingredients into wet. Divide dough into two portions, wrap, and chill for at least two hours or overnight.

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. When dough is no longer sticky, roll out and cut with cookie cutters, then transfer to lined baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are browned; transfer immediately to a cooling rack.
