Our Montecito Meat Department Manager, Josh Carter, brings you this awesome recipe for Pan Seared Rib Eye Steaks.

  • Prime Rib Eye Steak
  • 1 1/2 inches thick
  • Kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Rosemary or Thyme sprigs

  1. Season the steak with salt. Let steak come to room temperature for an hour.

  2. Pre-heat cast iron pan 10 minutes on high heat until it starts to smoke.

  3. Cook steak for 5 minutes then flip. Add butter & rosemary or thyme to the pan and cook 5 to 7 minutes more, basting the steak with butter from the pan. Let steak rest for 10 minutes before enjoying.
