D.I.Y. Popcorn Seasoning 4 Ways

  • 1/3 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 8 cups popped popcorn


  1. In a small bowl combine dry ingredients. Add 4 cups of the popped popcorn to a large bowl. Sprinkle with half of the seasoning; toss to coat evenly. Add the remaining 4 cups of popped popcorn to the same bowl. Sprinkle with the remaining seasoning. Toss again to coat. Incorporate the popcorn from the first layer into the second addition. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 48 hours.

  2. Everything Bagel Seasoning: Add poppy seeds, toasted sesame seeds, dried garlic, and dried onion to the seasoning mix to create a version that tastes like an everything bagel.

  3. Za'atar Seasoning: Make a za'atar inspired seasoning by adding oregano, marjoram, thyme, cumin, coriander, sesame seeds, and sumac.

  4. Taco Seasoning: Add taco seasoning to dry mixture for a Tex-Mex flavor.
