Mathis Wine

Focused on bringing the complexity of France’s Rhône-style Grenache to Sonoma Valley, the former head winemaker at Ravenswood Peter Mathis planted 7 acres of his beloved variety, along with some Carignane, Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet, to his mountain estate vineyard above the Sonoma Valley floor in 1999 and 2000. For the past 15+ years, Peter has been producing highly acclaimed Grenache and Rosé de Grenache bottlings from the small estate vineyard he continues to farm himself.
