Their favorites are reviewed using the Oliver’s “thumb” system so you can find the best of the best. Each reviewer signs their name at the bottom of the tag – you might find that your preferences match their favorites, and you can follow their recommendations in the store.

Say Cheese!
Our award-winning Cheese mongers are some of the most passionate in the region. When you’re looking for the cheese of your dreams, be it Sonoma County’s finest or a beautiful import, our cheese mongers are always ready with the perfect suggestion. Look for their rotating favorites, which may change seasonally or as new, exciting cheeses arrive. No matter what, be ready to expand your cheese-tasting palate!
- Isigny Sainte-Mère 18 Month Mimolette, $19.99/Lb.
- “A cheese that’s sure to stand out in a crowd, Mimolette steals the spotlight with its unique cantaloupe shape and striking orange paste. As the cheese ages, cheese mites gently nibble at the rind allowing for each wheel to aerate, allowing for layers of complexities from the cave to settle into each wheel. As the wheels age deeper flavors develop, leading to a flavor profile bursting with notes of butterscotch and caramel.” – Wade Johnson, Gourmet Cheese Coordinator
- Bergamino di Bufala, $23.99/Lb.
- “The Bergamino Di Bufala is unique as it’s an Italian water buffalo milk cheese, which makes it stand out on any charcuterie board. It has a light and fluffy texture and a silky-smooth creamy flavor. It Pairs perfectly with any nice tart jam or jelly, making it a perfect snack spread onto a baguette or cracker.” – Lilith Hancock, Gourmet Cheese Assistant Manager, Cotati
- Camembert Fermier, 8.8oz package, $11.99/ea.
- “Camembert Fermier is one of the most beautiful French Cheeses I have ever experienced. While it is young, you get notes of toasted mushrooms, butter, and wild onions. As it matures, it evolves into flavors reminiscent of oysters and broccoli soup; a very full-bodied taste experience. I love Camembert Fermier spread on a piece of crusty bread with fresh apples or pears and paired with a glass of Pinot Noir or robust Bordeaux. Definitely a good time.” – Matt Hyer, Gourmet Cheese Manager, Montecito

Comments
Add a commentI love shopping at Oliver’s Stony Point, especially on Wednesdays when we elders delight in the positivity of the (often very youthful) staff.
The meat/fish department is so fun. Great smiles (and maybe rolling eyeballs) as I pick out exactly the piece I want. After all, I’m the one who will be eating it!
And special thanks to the bakery for slicing my weekly bread order for late in the day pick up! Amen
