Pyrat Hot Buttered Rum

Hot Buttered Rum is a classic hot cocktail that will warm your soul during the cold winter months. It’s both sweet and warm, which is just the kind of comfort we want on the coldest days of the year.

  • 2c. water
  • 1/2 stick (1/4c.) unsalted butter
  • 1/4c. packed dark brown sugar
  • 1tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2tsp. fresh grated nutmeg
  • 1/4tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/8tsp. salt
  • 2/3c. Pyrat Rum


  1. Bring water, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt to a boil in a 1 1/2- to 2-quart saucepan over moderately high heat.

  2. Reduce heat and simmer, whisking occasionally, 10 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in rum. Serve hot.
