Gravenstein Apple Sauce

Awesome Sauce! Take advantage of these delicious Gravs and make your own Gravenstein Apple Sauce.

 

  • Serves: 6 pints
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 lbs. Gravenstein apples, cored and quartered
  • 2 cups Oliver's Own Apple Juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, strained

Instructions

  1. In an 8-10-quart heavy kettle or pot combine apples, apple juice, and lemon juice, Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 25-30 minutes until apples are very tender, stirring often.
    Press apples through a food mill or sieve, if desired, or you can roughly mash them with a potato masher. Return pulp to kettle. If necessary, add ½-1 c. water to reach desired consistency. Bring to boiling.
    Serve warm, or cool in the refrigerator.
