Our in-store bakeries specialize in creating the best cakes in the universe. Year in and year out, these pastries win awards at our local Harvest Fair.

Once you've had one of our cakes, it will ruin you for anything else. In addition, we offer a wide variety of bread from local artisan bakeries, as well as our own store baked French bread.

Each of our bakeries feature full-service espresso, juice bars, and NOW Revive Kombucha on tap.

Bakery Coordinator
Our bakery manager Marghi Sulas has been with Oliver's in the Stony point store for the past 6 years. She started baking in Vieste Italy where she was born and raise. She enjoys baking delicious Italian pastries such as crostata and cornetti al cioccolato. She now resides in Sebastopol with her 2 beautiful daughters. Marghi enjoys the kind and eclectic community, the wonderful weather and the artisanal  food and wine of Sonoma county. Oliver's has become a great venue to work in a field she loves and continue to expand her community. 

Melanie Spackman
Cotati Bakery Manager

Melanie has worked for Oliver's for over 16 years, but her most important job is being a mom. 

She makes delicious desserts and has won many awards from the Harvest Fair for her beautiful creations.

Ron Barbata
Montecito Bakery Manager

A So Cal boy who fell in love with Northern California and good food who has worked for Oliver’s for more than 19 years, Ron is a true  foodie at heart, and has  been involved  in the deli, bakery and cheese department since the 1990’s. Ron first love is the Art of Pastry  and all things chocolate. Ron favorite job is being Dad to three great kids, although being Bakery Manager is pretty fun too. Ron is always taking a class at JC, learning new things, taking pictures and exploring the nooks and crannies of the world. 

 


Where "Local" Means Sonoma County

To us Local means Sonoma County -- period. Not Marin, not Napa, and definitely not the state of California, as some of our competitors define it.

From the day we opened our doors in 1988, we’ve built our business on the simple premise that the best food and wine in the world are produced here, in Sonoma County. We didn’t feel like we were pioneers at the time, but as people have come to understand and embrace the value of locally grown and made food and the value of shopping locally, we realize we were part of the early days of the movement.

As a Sonoma County business, we’ve built enduring relationships with local growers, makers, and manufacturers, because they make the foods and wines we love. Many of them were getting started when we were. Now they are nationally known, but for us, they are still old friends who often delivered products to our Cotati store in their cars back in the late 1980s.

Along with local products being excellent choices for taste and quality reasons, buying locally also improves our local economy. The dollars you spend at local retailers buying local products support other local businesses and our tax base, too!
