We can ring in hope and end hunger!

If you haven’t already noticed – Oliver’s Market is committed to supporting our local community. The events in October of this year have made us double down on that commitment.  Now, more than ever, we are grateful to live and work in Sonoma County.

There are various ways we support local businesses and non-profits throughout the county. We partner with many local farms, through companies like FEED Sonoma, we help our customers donate directly to local non-profits of their choice through E-Scrip, and our employees love to volunteer together at non-profits like the Sonoma Humane Society or the Redwood Empire Food Bank. We are committed to supporting local, and hope you are too.

The Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization serving north coastal California, from Sonoma County to the Oregon border. Since 1987, the REFB has been helping our neighbors in need. There are various ways we donate to and support the Redwood Empire Food Bank. In each of our stores you will find the Redwood Empire Food Bank orange food donation barrels. Every year our customers and employees donate over 7,700 pounds of food by adding to the barrels.

One of our favorite fundraisers in support of the Redwood Empire Food Bank is our “One Bell Saves Supper” campaign. 1 in 6 people in Sonoma County struggle with hunger. When you purchase one bell for $1, you will be helping provide two meals to our neighbors in need with all proceeds benefiting the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Last year, in 2016, our customers purchased 8807 bells, raising $8807.00! The bells campaign, combined with E-scrip funding and volunteer hours, Oliver’s Market has been able to provide over 75,000 meals to many of our neighbors in need around Sonoma County.

You can find the bells at each Oliver’s Market location, hanging at every check stand. Not only are they a festive way to celebrate the winter holidays, but you’ll be happy knowing that with your purchase of a bell, you are helping to support people all over our beautiful county. It’s a simple, but effective way to make a difference in someone’s life.

With your help, we can ring in hope and end hunger!
