Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

We all agree that Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be the only day you shower your loved ones with sweets, gifts and kisses, right? But regardless of how you feel about Valentine’s Day, it’s still fun to find a special treat for the loved ones in your life. You don’t have to be in a “relationship” to remind someone that you love them –  of course we should tell and show people our feelings about them every day of the year, but sometimes it’s fun to jump on the pink and red train and play the Valentine’s Day game.

Here, we’ve gathered some Valentine’s Day gift ideas for everyone on your list.

For your Significant Other…

Whether you’re shopping for “him” or “her”, we have everything you need at Oliver’s Market. One of my favorite ideas is to pick up some locally distilled spirits (from one of our favorite distilleries like Spirit Works or Griffo), cocktail bitters and a fancy glass or two – what’s more romantic than a gourmet cocktail kit?? If booze isn’t their thing, try picking up a gift that will help your loved one relax and unwind. We have a wonderful selection of pure essential oils and diffusers that will be sure to set the mood for a relaxing and romantic night, any night of the year. But really, when in doubt, you can’t go wrong with locally made Molehill Mountain candles ($10.99ea), local single stem roses ($4.99ea), and hand dippedchocolate dipped strawberries ($12.99/lb) – all on sale this week.

For your Kids…

We love our kids more than anyone else, so it’s fun to treat them to Valentine’s Day gifts too. We have a great selection of Valentine’s Day candies and treats in all our stores that will be sure to bring a smile to every child’s face. Oliver’s cupcakes will also do the trick, so it’s best to pick up one for them – and one for you!! Mostly though, I love the idea of Valentine’s Day presents that aren’t focused around sugar-coated confections, which is why I like the idea of gifting a child-sized Hydroflask to my favorite kiddo. They are durable, come in all sorts of fun colors, and are sure to last all the way until next Valentine’s Day.

For your Pets…

Raise your hand if your first love was a beloved pet (pick me, pick me!). That’s why our fur babies need some love on Valentine’s Day too! My favorite go-to pet treats are the Gourmet Bacon Dog Biscuits from Costeaux French Bakery in Healdsburg. Made from left over bread and bacon grease – they are love, in biscuit form.

For Everyone Else…

Don’t forget the other people on your list too! It can be really fun to buy Valentine’s Day gifts for your parents, co-workers and even neighbors. I don’t think you can do wrong by going with food-related gifts (at least that’s what gets me excited!). Grab an assortment of cheeses, cured meats and crackers for a gourmet cheese basket. Even better, pair some gourmet cheeses with a bottle or two of Oliver’s Own wine or champagne. Finally, pick up some locally raised tulips for a beautiful treat for anyone on your list.

I hope this Valentine’s Day gift guide helps making your shopping easy. But most importantly, don’t forget to pick up something for yourself! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Does Oliver’s offer any vegan-friendly chocolate truffles or the like for Valentines? It would be great if I didn’t have to order them online. Thanks!
