The holidays are supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. This year I encourage you to give back to your community and planet.

• Volunteer at a local non-profit or charity
• Donate old toys and clothes
• Teach your children the importance of giving
• Shop locally owned
• Wrap gifts in recycled materials like paper bags and doodle your own creation, or use newspaper, maps, or magazines
• Use LED lights for house and tree lighting and turn off at bedtime
• Home make ornaments and decorations instead of purchasing new ones
• Participate in a gift exchange like Secret Santa or White Elephant
