Meat & Seafood Department Assistant Manager

Overview

As the Department Assistant Manager you will oversee the daily operation of the entire staff and all sections of the department. You will assist in all administrative duties in the absence of the manager. You will help facilitate and train new hires. Additionally, you will assist in all areas of the department when needed, produce all products made in the department, process all animals.  Your job duties will also include any additional duties deemed appropriate by your department manager.

  • Firm understanding of Health Department Regulations

  • Ability to solve customer request/needs and employee questions
  • Sales and Purchase logs and tracking
  • Follow and implement proper receiving procedures
  • Writing orders and inventory control

Requirements:

  • Aid the Meat Dept Manager in supervising and managing the meat department and staff
  • Complete administration duties
  • Provide excellent and quality service to customers
  • Aiding in the development and training of new employees
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (floors, counters, work tables, etc.)
  • Operate, clean and sanitize work equipment (band saw, grinders, tenderizer, slicer, etc.)
  • Follow and enforce all applicable State of California Health and Safety codes
  • 18 year +
  • Prior meat experience
  • Able to fulfill all physical requirements of the position
