Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Duties:

  • Give every delivery immediate and undivided attention
  • Food and product ordering
  • Assist drivers with unloading and checking deliveries
  • Maintain filled receiving supplies
  • Confirmation of each delivery and variances noted on invoice
  • Liaising with Chef and Deli Manager
  • Completes required administration duties
  • Answer phones with proper etiquette when time permits
  • Stocking product
  • Food and product rotation
  • Communication with staff, management and vendors
  • Develop working knowledge of all prepared food vendors
  • Watches pricing so as to stay competitive
  • Assist other deli positions when necessary to facilitate customer service and aid in unfinished projects

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee must occasionally lift up to 70 pounds and regularly lift up to 15 pounds while carrying ingredients, dishes, oil for the fryer or deli equipment
  • The employee must be able to reach above and below shoulders to access items in cabinets, shelves, and cases and on racks
  • The employee must be able to work around heavy kitchen equipment and machinery such as but not limited to: slicers, hot bar, salad bar, misers, fry, stoves, ovens, steamer and dishwasher
  • The employee must be able to work with grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts without suffering negative allergic consequences that impact performance
