Green Efforts

Oliver's is proud to announce the launch of our "Green Efforts" web page. This tab provides a way for us to keep interested citizens up to date on how our greening efforts are going. Our interactive slides allow you to see our sustainability mission, the guiding force for our efforts; where this mission has taken us i.e. the projects we have completed; and the results of our completed projects. Each month we will update projects we have completed, and subsequently the accumulation of results.

Green Tip:
Each month we will be providing a green tip. They will vary widely in relations to your life, hopefully reaching a full spectrum of ideas to contemplate. This month, we thought it fitting to start with a carbon footprint test. There are many out there, when taking one look for complete comprehension. At a minimum it should cover: living, driving, eating, waste, and personal habits. These test work on generalities, so don't feel bad if your results are higher then expected. What you should take out this is which areas you are having that largest impact. Once you have this knowledge you can take active steps to reducing your impact in these areas. Try working on needed areas and taking the test again in three months to see how you have improved.

Green Item of the Month:
Each month we will be providing a "green item of the month" for our customers. We want to encourage our customers to shop as green as possible, so we are providing such products at a discounts price to make it easier to live green.

Green Certified Partners:
We have provided a list of our Green Certified Partners. These are all local businesses that we have strong relationships with. We are proud to share the Green Certified Business title with them.

Links:
We have provided helpful links for business' and resident's who are interested in making their lives more sustainable. All these links have proved very useful in our journey.

Comments: We realize that we do not have all answers. Our community is our best resource. We encourage you to give any and all comments in regards to the greening of our store and or products carried. All comments will be thoughtfully digested and taken into consideration. Once a decision has been made about the comment we will graciously respond, letting you know how we will incorporate your suggestion.

Jude Frates is Oliver's Sustainability Coordinator. Oliver’s Sustainability Coordinator is tasked with monitoring water, energy, and waste bills to ensure there are no spikes in consumption or output. The SC continually looks for new ways to improve store efficiency and reduce consumption.
