Hick’s Valley Grass Fed Beef

Petaluma, CA

One of our favorite local partnerships is not with people, but with the cattle over yonder at Hick’s Valley Ranch. Black Angus Beef, born and raised in Petaluma, never given hormones or antibiotics, and raised free range on pesticide free open grasslands by third generation rancher Bill Barboni. Hick’s Valley has the best that beef has to offer, and it's local. Oliver’s is proud to be the only supermarket to offer Hick’s Valley Grass Fed Beef.

Willie Bird Turkeys

Santa Rosa, CA

website

The Benedetti family began raising turkeys in Sonoma County in 1948. In 1963 Willie Benedetti developed the formula for the famous Willie Bird Turkey, which the family now raises in the rolling, oak studded hills east of Santa Rosa, California. These "free range" turkeys are tended and nurtured by Willie, his brother, Riley, and their cousin, Rocky Koch.

Black Pig/Bovolo

Healdsburg, CA

website

Our pork comes from Pure Country Pork in the Northwest which is the first sustainable hog operation in the United States to earn Food Alliance Certification. The pigs are heritage breed, raised without antibiotics and hormones, and are allowed to roam free range. Our Bacon is dry cured with brown sugar for up to 21 days and then finished with applewood smoking for about 12 hours. We are focused on quality not quantity. The result is a bacon that is perfectly balanced in salt, sweet, and smoke; complex from the brown sugar and real wood smoke; and one where you can taste the quality of the pork.

Liberty Ducks

707-795-3797

5 employees

website

Sonoma County Poultry was founded in 1992 by Jim Reichardt, a fourth generation duck farmer, in response to chefs’ demands for a larger, meatier, more flavorful duck. Our “Liberty Ducks” are a strain of Pekin Duck that was developed in Denmark and is suited to a slower, less stressful style of rearing. This results in a market age of about 9 weeks as opposed to six weeks for other commercially grown birds.
