Real Music!
Real Music VOL 3 will be release June 7th, join us for a release party & benefit: Real Music Vol 3 Party
Oliver’s Markets proudly presentsour Real Music CD VOL I, II & III, featuring bands and musicians from Sonoma County. Real Music was born from our desire to play original Sonoma County music over our store public address systems to delight and entertain our shoppers. Our search for local content connected us with a miraculous local music community that embraced our interest and inspired this compilation. Just as it is with food, we believe local music is valuable, compelling and intrinsically relevant to our lives. Local musicians draw from the experience of living here and their music reflects the diversity and uniqueness of life in Sonoma County.
We have compiled over six hours of original music written, performed and generously donated by 66 Sonoma County artists to benefit the Redwood Empire Food Bank. While certainly not comprehensive, we believe this collection represents a good sampling of the amazing music that is being created and performed right here in our backyard everyday. We hope you enjoy it!
We’d like to thank all of the artists featured in this CD for their generous support of this project and the Redwood Empire food Bank. Special thanks to Frank Hayhurst, Blair Hardman, Prairie Sun Recording, Doug Jayne at the Last Record Store, and the KRSH 95.9fm whose hard work and deep rooted connections to Sonoma County music made this CD possible.

Founded in 1985, the Detroit Disciples have indeed staked a reputation as a band with a keen ear for songwriting. Baptized in the same roots rock river that began with Mitch Ryder and flows through such artists as Los Lobos, Steve Earle, the Mystix and A Band of Heathens, the Disciples have caught the attention of many a discerning fan. Based in Sonoma County, California, the Detroit Disciples have a strong following garnered from years of shows in the San Francisco North Bay.
Girls & Boys
Girls & Boys, are a band based out of Santa Rosa California. Their debut album "The Feel Of The Sun" came out October 2011. It is a mix of vibes and styles ranging from the intense energy and emotion of "The End', to the laid back groove of "Winter Moon". KC Turner from SF wrote in his New Music Monday blog "Be Prepared to get goosebumps!". WIth four songs placed in the upcoming Hollywood film "Divorce Invitation" debuting in March at the "Cannes Film Festival", they are definitely on the rise and gaining attention!
Kazamoze
KAZAMOZE is a world rock festival dance confluence of western and eastern beats, styles, melody and instrumentation. The sound is energetic and totally unique - electric ukulele funk, slide cuattro, driving fretless bass, world percussion and 4 part harmonies. Frequent special guests at shows bring accordion, wind, harmonica and other colorful surprises! KAZAMOZE released their second record “Rooftop Flyer” in 2011 featuring the single “Wind in my Face”. KAZAMOZE also backed up Roxanne Oliva on the acclaimed 2011 album “Box Candy” featuring accordion-driven world rock and groove. The band and dance repertoire continues to evolve with the help of their many friends and fans!

She graduated with Distinction in English (Linguistics) from Sonoma State University, and has enjoyed over twenty-five years of performances, recording, event producing, and writing projects in the schools and community. Linda lives in a cottage under the oak trees with her dog, Roxy, too many keyboards and too many shoes.
Micheal Barclay
Michael worked with Chuck Berry in the late sixties on the east coast and also recorded at Electric Lady Studios produced by Jimi Hendrix. Recently, Michael signed contracts and completed the production of a blues themes album. Once again Michael and the band performed recently on the same bill with Duke Robillard. Recent releases include ‘Lazarus’, ‘Black & White’, ‘Blue Eyed Blues’, and ‘Soul Patch’.
Natasha James
NATASHA JAMES is known for taking Roots music styles, turning them on their head, combining them, and coming out with tunes that are completely unique but totally familiar (Music Connection, Aug 2008) at the same time. On her debut album, BAD JUDGEMENTS, she had the pleasure of working and recording with old friend and monster sax player, MARTIN FIERRO (Thelonius Monk, Jerry Garcia, Zero) and reknowned keyboardist AUSTIN DELONE, among other stellar talents. That CD launched the hit single, "The Restless Kind," (#10, ACQB), and got her music compared to Van Morrison (Americana Media Guide, Aug 2008) and her voice to Janis Joplin crossed with Joan Baez (Music Connection). TEQUILA TIME, the latest release from this prolific troubadour from Northern California, finds her once again pushing the edges of the Roots Americana movement, and upping the rock ante. NATASHA JAMES once again has some stellar musicians in her line-up. They recorded 17 songs in 4 days, including getting tones, she said on KRCB in an interview and live performance this month (Mindy's Mix, KRCB, 91.1 FM, Rohnert Park, CA). Players include DAVE AGUILAR (Norton Buffalo), with whom she did a duet that night, IAN LAMSON (Elvin Bishop), STEVE EVANS (Coco Montoya, Elvin Bishop), HERMAN EBERITZSCH (Malo, Lee Oskar), and WOODY VERMEIRE (Commander Cody), all engineered by RONNIE RIVERA, who also plays the drums in this stellar line-up.
Old on Meds
We all live in Sonoma County and our CD, 'The Master Bacon Project' was recorded almost entirely at Atlas Studios near Julliard Park. We've played together for several years but only became serious about being a "band" a couple of years ago. Technically, we're a combo as we don't have a drummer at this time. (We hired one for recording purposes because we'd RATHER have a drummer...) Old On Meds is made up of: Mark Bacon on acoustic guitar/vocals, Rick Hutchinson on bass, and Tony Cohen on Lead guitar
Pulsators
The Pulsators formed in 1989 are a five piece band that plays its own brand of music. With a get-up-and-dance kind of orchestration, their music has been defined as a spicy blend of driving blues, New Orleans-funky R&B, rock steady reggae and rock-and-roll. Their music supports an ever-growing legion of faithful fans who keep coming back for more.
