Our full-service meat departments are staffed by some of the most experienced butchers in Sonoma County.

We are sourcing 100% Angus cattle for the first time in our company history, with the goal of bringing our customers consistent quality, appealing texture, and full flavor with every purchase. Long associated with outstanding quality, the Angus breed provides excellent consistency. Consumers know Angus beef for its rich, delicious flavor, quality, and tenderness. 

We are proud to introduce Oliver’s Own Prime Beef; delightfully tender and juicy with a buttery flavor that makes it distinctively superior to any other steak. Of all the beef produced in the US, less than 2% is certified as USDA Prime. Typically you will find USDA Prime in upscale restaurants. Now you can bring that buttery flavor and tenderness home with Oliver’s Prime beef.
Humboldt Grassfed Beef cattle
are raised on the Northcoast of California where longer feed growing seasons offer the unique ability to raise superior Grassfed Beef year round. Raised using strict quality assurance guidelines, all the cattle are free of man-made supplemental antibiotics, synthetic hormones, animal byproducts, and all other feed additives commonly used throughout the commercial cattle feeding industry.

Mindful Meats is a mission-driven meat company that brings regional, organic, non-GMO, pasture raised beef from small family farms to markets.  Their mission is to restore the health of America’s meat market – from the impact on the environment and the healthfulness of the meat.

We carry Rocky free range and Rosie organic chickens from Petaluma Poultry. They have been providing fresh local chicken to the west coast since 1920 and still continue their hatchery, feed mill and packaging operations throughout Sonoma County, California from Santa Rosa to Petaluma.
Coleman Natural Pork selects only the best breeds raised to their exact protocols with 100% vegetarian diets and no animal
byproducts. They never use antibiotics or growth hormones.
Wild Idea's buffalo are raised with love and respect. They are harvested with dignity in the pastures they graze. The buffalo are field dressed in a mobile abattoir on the prairie, operated by Sustainable Harvest Alliance. The carcasses are transported to Wild Idea's new processing facility and turned into fine, prime buffalo cuts by skilled artisan butchers. By following nature's circle of life, they help restore the link between the land, the animals, and the people.
Our full-service seafood departments receive deliveries from local fisheries daily and offer the widest selection of fresh seafood around. We are proud to partner with The Tides Wharf in Bodega Bay to source local seafood.

We work with the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program to bring you the most accurate sustainability recommendations for each seafood item we carry.

Todd, Meat Coordinator for Oliver's Market, started in the meat business in 1983. He has worked as a meat cutter, manager, supervisor, and a store owner.

To us Local means Sonoma County -- period. Not Marin, not Napa, and definitely not the state of California, as some of our competitors define it.

From the day we opened our doors in 1988, we’ve built our business on the simple premise that the best food and wine in the world are produced here, in Sonoma County. We didn’t feel like we were pioneers at the time, but as people have come to understand and embrace the value of locally grown and made food and the value of shopping locally, we realize we were part of the early days of the movement.

As a Sonoma County business, we’ve built enduring relationships with local growers, makers, and manufacturers, because they make the foods and wines we love. Many of them were getting started when we were. Now they are nationally known, but for us, they are still old friends who often delivered products to our Cotati store in their cars back in the late 1980s.

Along with local products being excellent choices for taste and quality reasons, buying locally also improves our local economy. The dollars you spend at local retailers buying local products support other local businesses and our tax base, too!
